Meeting Framework August 27, 2009

TEACHS will strive to include the following in each co-op meeting- each meeting will be Biblically-based as the meetings foundation.

Opening activities- attendance/administration tasks/ activities for scouts/opening prayer/ recite Pledge of Allegiance/recite scout promises

Devotion Time-

Science Fun-

Badge Work- Recap (if needed)/Activity/ Discussion/ Character Development/ Project

Just for Fun Activities- Dangerous Boys/ Daring Girls/ American Girl

History-

Literature- Reading/ snacks (bring your own)

Games as a back-up/ time filler

Closing- Clean-up/ Reflection and Badge presentation (at end of each unit theme)/ Closing Prayer

Parent volunteers (and scouts in 6th grade and above) will work with one founder to develop meeting each month on a rotating basis.  The founder will provider the framework and guide the planning of each meeting.  The founder will provide suggestions/ resources but ultimately the meeting will be a combined cooperative effort by all volunteers.

Two Founders overseeing Administration Needs
Attendance/ Meeting and Greeting/ Pledge/ Opening Prayer

Devotion Time- Led by Founder or Parent

Biblical Theme, Bible Story, Scripture, Reading

Science Fun- Led by Founder or Parent

Badge Work – Led by Founder, Parent, and 6th grade +
Badge Work/ Character Development
Group Project/ Craft

History/ Art and Literature – Led by Founders, Parent, and 6th +

Picturing America + Historically- related Reading

Enrichment Time- Led by Founder, Parent, and 6th grade +

In-Depth Badge Work/ Promises/Literature-Reading/ Boy Scouts/Boy-Related/ Dangerous Boys/ Boy Project/ Games

In Depth Badge Work/ Promises/Literature-Reading/Girl Scouts/ Girl-Related/ American Girl/ Girl Craft/ Games


Reflection/ Closing- Led by Founder, Parent, or Scout 
Clean-Up/ Badge Recognition/ Reminders/ Closing Prayer

    I have a 12yr old son that I home school. Would you please send me some info on Teachs. Location, time, ages, etc. Your pictures look like the kids learn a lot and have fun doing it.
